Magnetic Sign Installation, Maintenance and Storage
Please
read these very important magnetic sign installation, maintenance
and storage instructions. If you carefully follow the outlined
care, your satisfaction and the longevity of your signage will
be assured.
INSTALLATION
1. Wash and dry area on vehicle where magnetic sign will be
placed.
2. Wax area on vehicle where magnetic sign will be placed.
3. Apply magnetic sign on area making completely sure that entire
sign is in contact with vehicle body. Check to make sure no
edges are sticking up and that no air pockets are trapped under
sign. You may correct any edges that are not in contact with
vehicle by carefully bending that part of the sign back slightly.
DO NOT CREASE! Magnetic signs cannot be placed over repaired
areas that use body fill. Since body fill is not metal, magnetic
signage will not stick to these areas. Find another suitable
area on the vehicle to display your sign.
MAINTENANCE
1. Remove sign from vehicle once a week.
2. Wash, dry and wax area where sign will placed.
3. Clean and dry front and back of signs, taking care over vinyl
lettering or logo areas.
4. Replace sign on vehicle at a slightly different spot. Use
a mild nonabrasive detergent and a sponge to wash sign. Rinse
thoroughly. Wipe sign dry. Do not immerse in water. Do not use
steam or pressure to wash signs. Do not take sign through car
wash - remove first.
STORAGE
1. Store sign flat on a metal surface, or…
2. Store sign rolled up in a tube, magnetic side in / printed
side out. When storing sign inside mailing tube, use a 4" diameter
size, no smaller. Do not roll tightly, roll as large as possible
to fit just inside tube. Take care not to leave magnetic sign
unprotected and unrolled inside a hot vehicle. Except when 'in
use', high temperatures can distort your sign. Do not fold,
crease or place heavy objects on top of sign. When the aerodynamic
properties of the sign are damaged, your sign may blow off of
your vehicle. Try straightening sign by placing it on a flat
metal surface: Filing cabinet, metal desk, or refrigerator.
Leave in place for one or two days.
